Boris Johnson praised the performance of the  team following the win. Speaking to journalists, while on a visit to energy company Bulb’s headquarters, the prime minister said: “I thought it was the most extraordinary game.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen an England team play with such creativity and flair and versatility and just keep going like that.
“The way Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane just kept their energy levels up throughout the 120 minutes or whatever it was.
“It was a total nail-biter.” He also wished the team the “very best” ahead on Sunday’s final against Italy.

In a tweet, Denmark’s national side wrote: “To you who have been to Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Baku and London.

“To you who have followed from all over the country. From the living rooms, the parties in the clubhouses, the big squares.

“To you who have supported us when we needed it.

“To you who will never forget the summer of ’21.

“Thanks.”

Nuisance Behaviour

The big win was slightly marred  by nuisance behaviour from  England fans, leading to three charges, one of which is the use of a laser pointer by a spectator after one appeared to be directed at Denmark’s goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel as he prepared to face Harry Kane’s penalty.

The other charges relate to fans disturbing the national anthems and lighting fireworks.  British fans will be encouraged to behave much better for the final game on Sunday against Italy which will be its biggest game in over half a century, and not ruin what could be a special time in the history of British football.

The will for England to win its first tournament since England won the world cup in 1966 will be very high , though we will be up against a very good  Italy side.
