The force said people “can relax, have a picnic, exercise or play sport”, so long as they are on their own, with people they lived with, or with just one other person from another household.Brits flocked to town and beaches in numbers on the hottest day of the year so far as the weather peaked  at 27.8C (82F) on Wednesday afternoon, beating the previous day’s high.

Sunbathers were enjoying the benefits of the easing of lockdown restrictions, which since last week have allowed people in England to sunbathe and spend an unlimited amount of time outdoors.London was where the hottest temperature of the day was recorded, with Heathrow Airport, topping St James’s Park’s balmy high of 26.2C (79F) on Tuesday.

Social distance was poorly observed in many parts of the country as people were more concerned about enjoying the sunshine and relaxing again. The requirement to be with one person from another household did not appear to be strictly observed in many groups according to observers who gave feedback to The Eye Of Media.Com.   Most people were simply enjoying the liberty of being outdoor and enjoying the sunshine.

Consciousness of social distance was more evident when strangers tried to approach others at close quarters than it was among friends and associates in many places.

Bourmouth, Brighton and Southend On Sea beaches were all filled with sunbathers, many of whom appeared to be making some effort to maintain the two metres distance advice, but many who could not resist breaching it.

Forecasts of thunderstorm for tomorrow will keep more people at home if forecasters get it wrong.Forecasters are not always right, and many Brits will be hoping they are wrong.
