Four dogs have attacked another dog at Vicar Water Country Park on Wednesday morning, then chased a woman and her child into the water, the eye of media.com has heard.
The lose dogs inexplicably attacked the helpless dog , then went for a woman and her child, who both ran for their lives and jumped into the water. The isolated dog died after the attack at the park in Clipstone. The four dogs were seized by police.
The 23-year-old woman who ran into the water was taken to Kings Mill Hospital with none life threatening injuries.A spokesman for Nottinghamshire police said: “Officers have recovered a dog that they believe has died as a result of this incident.
“Four dogs have also been seized as part of the police investigation and officers are not looking for any others in connection with the incident. Enquiries are on-going.” Dogs are expected to be trained well by their owners and kept and controlled on a lead, but something quite different took place in Nottingham today. It could have been disastrous, had the dogs atatcked the woman or their child. The attack calls for greater emphasis on good dog rearing and control. Four dogs running mad in an attack against a n innocent dog, and chasing a mother and her child is worrying and not acceptable.
It is generally believed that dogs behave according to the way they are trained, and the reason for this attack remains unclear. The owners of the dog have not been located, making it extremely strange why four dogs were able to launch this kind of attack. It highlights the need for people to be alot more careful and vigilant when they see dogs, especially when unattended.
