2017 Will Be Full Of Political Drama

James Simons-

The new year will be full of political drama, with so many unknowns before us.

The U.K awaits the decision from then Supreme Court on the hotly contested Brexit process, and the world waits to see if President-elect Trump will actually be inaugurated as expected.

Theresa May has always mentioned March, 2017 as the month and time for Brexit to be officially implemented. However, apart from the potential obstacle that could be posed from an uncertain Supreme Court ruling, she faces other challenging issues  from existing EU countries with stubborn leaders with a rigid political stance.

They have done everything in their power to frustrate any efforts of  a smooth negotiation, perhaps because negotiations about a UK soft Brexit cannot be smooth in discussion or practice. By summer, it will be quite clear how things will turn out. With much certainty, it can be taken forgranted that EU bosses who are bitter about Britain’s plan to exit the EU have probably continued their collaborated plan not to budge to any terms that would facilitate the process of smooth Brexit without disadvantages  or a strong deterrent against further rebellion  from any of the other EU countries.

This will be a getting exercise for Theresa May, but she may just have the tough stomach required to fight it out.  It will be no easy battle, and when outnumbered by a group of egoistic, disappointed and angry leaders who are fearful of the future, the battle may be one sided. May will need to crack her head a lot more, she must have been doing a lot of that over the Christmas break. The challenge facing her may have been briefly suspended by her large Christmas Turkey and undoubtedly numerous Christmas presents, but its back to business as usual from tomorrow.

As for president-elect Trump, then biggest and toughest uncertainties awaits him. Leading American and all that comes with it is not an easy job. It is tasking with potentially serious consequences for any errors of judgement made. Many worry that President-elect Trump lacks the correct temperament to lead America, something the man himself  disputes. Trump has selected his team of wealthy and professional businessmen and women. Some of his choices have caused concern and worry among commentators, while some of them have been surprisingly capable and competent individuals, who were actually critics of Trump.

His biggest challenge may be actually getting into office and inaugurated as is expected in just about  3 weeks time. Nothing should actually prevent or obstruct that inauguration, but there areas many  concerns the Obama administration and other well placed politicians have about Trump. The belief that there is a plot to stop president-elect trump from office is more than just heart say. It bis plausible and likely that if anything can be done to stop him, it will be done. President-elect Trump is so different from any president before him, that it scares and worries a lot of people.    He appears very temperamental, tweets often and in the heat of the moment, holds controversial views, and is supportive of Russian president-Putin.

Trump could turn out to be the president that improves America, but if the high powers currently in office panic enough, they could throw a spanner in the works. Many believe plans are underway for this to occur, though it would take extraordinary plans and steps to stop him. However, extraordinary steps are not new in our world- people generally do what they think is necessary to get the outcome they want. The next 3 weeks will tell us alot.
