Queen Health Concerns After She Misses New Year Service

By Sammie Jones-

There are concerns for the health of the Queen after she missed the New years church service.

Her majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh fell ill before Christmas, forcing her to miss the Christmas day service at St.Mary Magdalene Church and delay her trip to see her Norfolk estate.

Buckingham Palace have said the Queen is still recuperating from a cold and therefore could not attend the service with members of the Royal family.

Temperatures have been particularly cold during the Christmas period up until the new year, but Britain has seen colder years in past times.

It is the first time in over two decades that the Queen has missed the New years church service and the  Christmas day ceremony.

The double no show for the  Queen is raising concerns that her health may be deteriorating due to a combination of her age and the cold weather. Severe cold weather is known to adversely affect the elderly a lot more than much younger individuals, with variants of the potential effects depending on many factors, including lifestyle, the immune system and many other things.

The general view is that she needs time to fully recover from a lingering cold and will be perfectly well once she has had sufficient rest.

Concerns have mainly stemmed from the fact that the Queen is known to unfailingly attend these services, making some observers to surmise that reports of a mere cold may be understated. Colds can be serious in the case of some flu’s, and this may just be a case of her being human like the rest of us.

According to reports, the Queen has not been to hospital to see a physician over this cold that has kept her out of sight.

This could bee a reflection of the minimum concern this cold has caused HMQ herself, although the possibility she may have medical experts at her beck and call in the palace its quite high. At least, one would expect that the head of the Monarch will not be left to substandard medical care or provision, even at the slightest sign of ill health.
