Birmingham, UK —Police and independent crime charity Crimestoppers have issued an urgent appeal to the public as they offer a £5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a wanted man linked to a violent stabbing in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police are seeking 29-year-old Jafir Nazir, who is wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation following an attack on Saturday 9 August 2025 in the Small Heath area. Officers say the victim — riding a quad bike at the time — was pushed off his vehicle, punched to the ground and then repeatedly stabbed in the head during the incident on Monica Road.

The victim survived and continues to receive treatment for serious injuries. Detectives have classified the assault as attempted murder and believe Nazir’s whereabouts are known to people in the local community.

In an effort to break the silence around the case, Crimestoppers has put up a £5,000 reward for information that directly leads to Nazir’s arrest. The charity emphasises that information must be passed to them — not the police — for anyone to be eligible for the reward.

Crimestoppers’ West Midlands Regional Manager, Alan Edwards, said the anonymity offered by the charity is crucial, particularly for those who might be reluctant to contact police directly. Callers never have to provide their name or identifying details, and calls or online tips cannot be traced.

The reward is available for a limited period of three months and is intended to help bring Nazir to justice and provide answers to the victim and their family.
