Wanted Criminal Taunts Police Saying He Can Run Like Mo Farah

By Lucy Caulkett-

A wanted fugitive has taunted police on social media by claiming he can run like like Mo Farah.

53 year old Gladstone Francis, from Stirchley- wanted for domestic violence- teased cops on social media by telling them he had tried to hand himself in but the police station was closed. Commenting on his mug shot, he responded to a post from a reader that said he resembled Mo Farah. Francis said : ”I can run like him too”

The comments expressed  under the force’s Facebook appeal were designed to mock police and demonstrate a lack of concern for the efforts to find him. Francis wrote: “I went to the police station today and it wasn’t open.

“If you can’t be bothered to open your shop I’ll buy my veg elsewhere.”

Officers responded to earlier comments their target had posted in the thread by saying: “I’m glad you dropped by Gladstone, but you’re wanted for a serious domestic assault amongst other things. We won’t be removing your picture until you hand yourself into a police station”. Thanks :)Another social media user likened Francis’  to the late Errol Brown – who was the lead singer of Hot Chocolate – saying: “Where’s he from? The sexy thing.”

Francis, replied: “Balsall Heath mate!” The communication on facebook has attracted 3,000 comments and 1,000 likes , and is slowly growing viral.  A freelancer from Birmingham who shared the post on her twitter Feed told The Eye Of Media.Com: . criminals like this sometimes make their evasion of police theatrical, partly to raise their profile in the criminal world. Francis would consider himself to have achieved greater notoriety for this stunt. Once caught, his case will attract more media interest, but he will be the villain to the public, not the hero he or notoriety he expects to get as part of street credentials. Most criminals know it is cowardice to attack a woman, including those who may have done so themselves.

His personal Facebook page was equally taunting, with Francis writing a post that read: ‘I make no apologies this is  me!’ – a lyric from hit film The Greatest Showman”. Francis’s whereabouts is unknown to police, but this criminal sure has a sense of humour. He won’t be laughing when police catch up with him, because West Midlands Police are one of the fiercest in the Uk when it comes to rough tackling criminals. Cops will have the last laugh when that time comes, and may just choose to crack a few jokes with the fugitives and see if he finds it funny.

Domestic violence is not funny at all, and has led to several deaths in the past. Domestic violence also affects the confidence and psychological mind of its victims, leading to low self esteem in many cases, and mental health problems in majority of cases for the victims.
