Video footage of a 56 year old grandfather of seven tasered to death has been released after being obtained by propublica.
Propublica are a none profit media organization based in Manhattan, who are committed to honest investigative journalism, designed to hold the powerful to account, whenever they exceed their powers.
The released video tells the story of how a grandfather of seven, Vachel Howard lost his life in the Los Angeles Police Department.
Vachel Howard was stopped and arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department in 2012 for driving erratically.
At the time, the coroner officially pronounced the cause of death as arising from a choke hold administered by one of the officers.
Officers claimed the grandfather had been resistant, causing them to administer a choke hold because he had tried to bite one of them.
Despite also administering electric shocks on the grandfather, who had told the officers he was schizophrenic, six officers combined therefore strengths to subdue him, because he allegedly had “super strength“.
One officer is seen placing his Knees on the grandfather’s back, as the other had his head in a choke lock. He was then tasered five times by officers.
Within an hour of the man’s arrest, Howard was pronounced dead. Efforts to resuscitate him were futile. Most shocking and sad about the whole affair is the fact police officers were seen laughing after they know Howard had failed to respond to efforts to resuscitate him.
That was most wicked of the officers. They should lose their jobs If ever it, heads should be rolling shouldn’t they?
Police later agreed to compensate his family 2.85 m dollars for wrongful arrest- a desperately sad admission to make after someone has died in the hands of police.
The released video adds pressure to the urgent need for police conduct in America to be overhauled. Their conduct is worse than animals!
