Nicola Adams is First Woman In 92 Years To Retain Gold

By Tim Parsons-

Nicola Adams is the first woman in 92 years to retain the gold medal in a boxing event. The North Yorkshire Las beat France’s  Sarah Ourahmoune by a unanimous decision in the fly weight category to win gold. Harry Millan was the last boxer to defend an olympic title in 1924, when he won the light heavy weight division in Paris.

Known as the baby faced assassin, Adams celebrated with her Ali Shuffle

Nicola Adams won her first gold medal in 2012, in London and must feel on top of the world after this victorious display, this time in Rio Brazil.

Women’s boxing is not popular in BritainNicola Adams but there is still a market for it among some boxing aficionados.

Women who train hard and compete at Olympic level are tough girls who subject their bodies to serious training regimes. They also have to endure the impact of pain when hit by. opponents.

The embarrassment for women who don’t fair well in a sport traditionally perceived as being meant for men only is often too emotional for losers to bear. That should not be surprising, after all women.are the sensitive gender.

Dedication and ability are qualities every woman must have to even qualify to to participate among  the female boxing squad. Winning twice in a row is simply a show of talent and dedication all in one.

HERO

Adams will sure return to a heroes welcome in Leeds where her boxing talent took off  from. Leeds City Council have a special occasion planned for all athletes from the county who have represented Britain will at the Rio Olympics.

She will probably be aiming to emulate the likes of Mo Farah, Usain Bolt,  and other legendsNicola Adams
who produce gold every time they step into competition on the international stage.  Apart from her 2012 Olympic gold medal, Adams previously had  common wealth, European and world flyweight titles among her accomplishments.

Nicola Adams may be a true legend in the making, and this may just her second  step on a unique journey in sports. Her party  hasn’t even begun yet.
