A fellow at the University of Cambridge has sparked uproar again after undermining racial equality, and suggesting an inherent superiority of the white race over the black race.
Controversial Nathan Cofnas(pictured) claimed that the idea of equality between races is a ‘thesis based on lies’ , and that there would be no black professors at Harvard if admission was based on merit alone.
He wrote: ‘In a meritocracy, Harvard faculty would be recruited from the best of the best students, which means the number of black professors would approach 0 percent.
‘Blacks would disappear from almost all high-profile positions outside of sports and entertainment.’
Later in his post, Mr Cofnas added: ‘Whites are the ones who brought blacks out of Africa and created the conditions where they failed to develop a culture of homework, respect for the law, and strong nuclear families.’
The fellow also dismissed the concept of racial equality: ‘The equality thesis is based on lies. Expose the lies and present the truth in a way that smart people can understand, and you can change minds.’
Nathan Cofnas, a college research fellow in the Faculty of Philosophy, published his controversial views on the online blog post on Monday, having no concern of any repercussions from what he regards as free speech.
Cofnas is particularly interested in scientific and ethical controversies connected with evolution-informed social science.
He is not the first lecturer to publicly express their controversial views that the white race is genetically more intelligent than the black race.
Last year, professor Nick Bostrom of Oxford University was forced to apologise after publishing his offensive views that blacks are more stupid than whites.

He wrote: “I have always liked the uncompromisingly objective way of thinking and speaking: the more counterintuitive and repugnant a formulation, the more it appeals to me given that it is logically correct. Take for example the following sentence:
“Blacks are more stupid than whites.
“I like that sentence and think it is true. But recently I have begun to believe that I won’t have much success with most people if I speak like that. They would think that I were a ‘racist’: that I disliked black people and thought that is is fair if blacks are treated badly. I don’t.
“It’s just that based on what I have read, I think it is probable that black people have a lower average IQ than mankind in general, and I think that IQ is highly correlated with what we normally mean by ‘smart’ and ‘stupid’.
University of Leeds lecturer, Frank Ellis, who teaches Russian and Slavonic studies, in 2006 told the Leeds Student newspaper that he supported the theory developed by Richard J Herrnstein and Charles Murray in their 1994 book The Bell Curve that white people are more intelligent than black people.
He also said that women did not have the same intellectual capacity as men.
Cambridge University has had its fair share of controversies and protests in the past couple of years. This may ignite the next one, if tempers flare over it.
Between 2019 and 2023, students of Cambridge have staged several protests of controversial guests invited to speak about transgender issues.
