A former government-linked UFO researcher has claimed that the United States may possess biological remains from at least four different types of extraterrestrial beings, reviving one of the most extraordinary claims in the modern UFO debate.
Dr Eric Davis, (pictured)a physicist who has worked on classified government programmes examining unidentified aerial phenomena, says he has seen evidence indicating that “a minimum of four” species are known to officials, although he has not publicly produced the bodies or scientific evidence establishing their extraterrestrial origin.

Speaking on Katie Pavlich Tonight, Davis said he was prepared to disclose what he knows but would first need assurances from the White House that he would be protected from legal consequences arising from classified information or non-disclosure obligations. His comments come as the US administration considers a process allowing UFO or UAP whistleblowers to provide information without breaching secrecy agreements.
Davis offered a striking preview of what he says are the four categories of alleged beings: the familiar “Grays”, tall human-looking “Nordics”, mantis-like “Insectoids” and reptile-like “Reptilians”. According to Davis, the purported biological material was recovered from alleged UFO wreckage and subsequently became associated with US government facilities. He said he was unable to identify precisely where the remains are now, but claimed that an institute connected to their storage or examination was divided into two or three components and relocated to different military medical institutions during the Obama administration.
The descriptions themselves are deeply rooted in UFO mythology. The “Grays” are perhaps the best-known alleged alien type, generally depicted as small, slender humanoids with grey skin, oversized heads and large dark eyes.

Their image became firmly embedded in popular culture through decades of UFO reports and books and was famously echoed by the alien beings depicted at the end of Steven Spielberg’s 1977 film Close Encounters of the Third Kind. In ufology, Grays are frequently associated with alleged abduction experiences and, more controversially, with claims surrounding the 1947 Roswell incident.
The alleged “Nordics” occupy an entirely different place in the UFO tradition. They are typically described as tall, human-looking beings with fair or light-coloured features, sometimes portrayed as resembling idealised Scandinavian humans.
Reports of such entities became prominent in contactee literature during the 1950s, when some UFO enthusiasts claimed that apparently benevolent extraterrestrials resembling humans had communicated with people on Earth. Modern ufologists generally treat the Nordic category as part of the broader mythology of alleged encounters rather than an established biological classification.
The “Insectoids” are similarly familiar to the UFO community, although considerably more unusual. They are generally described as humanoid entities with characteristics resembling insects, particularly praying mantises. Some alleged experiencers have described tall, thin beings with elongated limbs and large, angular heads. Within sections of the UFO community, these entities are sometimes portrayed as highly intelligent or associated with alleged abduction experiences. There is, however, no scientific evidence demonstrating that such creatures exist.
The fourth category, “Reptilians”, is perhaps the most controversial. Alleged reptilian beings are commonly described as humanoid figures with reptile-like skin, facial characteristics or other anatomical features. The concept has become particularly prominent in conspiracy culture, where claims about shape-shifting reptilian beings have sometimes been linked to powerful political or social figures. Those ideas are far removed from established science and have no credible evidential foundation.
There is therefore a known ufologist theory behind all four categories, but it is important to distinguish ufological tradition from scientific fact. The four types are not recognised extraterrestrial species in biology, astronomy or any government-confirmed scientific programme. Rather, they represent recurring descriptions within the UFO literature, alleged encounter reports and claims made by researchers and witnesses.
The latest claims also have an important evidential caveat. Another prominent researcher, physicist Hal Puthoff, has separately said that people involved in alleged UFO recoveries told him there were “at least four” types of beings. But Puthoff has acknowledged that he did not personally have access to the alleged material. The claim therefore rests, at least publicly, on testimony about what others supposedly saw rather than independently verifiable specimens available for scientific examination.
That difference is important because the US government’s official investigation has reached a markedly different conclusion. The Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO, conducted an extensive review of US government investigations dating back to 1945 and reported that it had found no verifiable evidence that UAP sightings represented extraterrestrial activity. It also found no empirical evidence that the US government or private companies possessed or were reverse-engineering extraterrestrial technology.
AARO has gone further, saying that alleged secret programmes described by interviewees were either non-existent, misidentified legitimate national-security programmes or programmes unrelated to extraterrestrial technology. Its investigators said many UAP cases could ultimately be explained by ordinary objects or phenomena, while acknowledging that some reports remain unresolved because of insufficient or poor-quality data.
Davis’s allegations consequently sit at the centre of one of the most persistent contradictions in the UFO debate: extraordinary claims of recovered spacecraft and biological material on one side, and an absence of publicly verifiable physical evidence on the other. His professional background makes the allegations particularly newsworthy, but credentials alone cannot establish that the purported beings exist.
If the White House does provide a protected route for whistleblowers to disclose classified UAP information, Davis could potentially become an important figure in the next phase of the debate. What would transform the story, however, would not simply be another testimony or description of an alleged creature. It would be independently testable biological material, documented provenance and rigorous scientific analysis.
Until that happens, the Grays, Nordics, Insectoids and Reptilians remain what they have been for decades: compelling figures in UFO folklore and the subject of extraordinary allegations, rather than scientifically established extraterrestrial species. The possibility that life exists elsewhere in the universe remains a serious scientific question. The claim that the US government is secretly storing four distinct alien species is something altogether different — and, on the evidence currently available to the public, remains unproven.
