U.S House Serious Look At Impeachment As Pelosi Discusses Nuclear Codes

House Democratic leaders are seriously working towards a vote as soon as next week on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, Rep. Katherine Clark, the assistant House speaker, confirmed on Friday.

The news comes as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif emphasised her  presumptive Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s, D-N.Y, demand in a letter to her caucus Friday afternoon that Vice President Mike Pence invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office before President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Pelosi’s remarks that Congress will take action if Trump does not leave office “imminently,” is being seriously  acted upon. High level concern has been expressed with regards the potential danger the president poses in his final days, as close officials to the president are constantly reminded to ensure safe parameters around the U.S president in times where he could be high unstable and under pressure mentally due to talks of his impeachment, as well as criminal charges.

Concern about Trump’s unpredictability is being taken seriously, with even some members of the Republican Party particularly concerned.

Unhinged

Pelosi also said she spoke to Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley on Friday morning about preventing Trump from launching a nuclear strike. “The situation of this unhinged president could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” she wrote.Read the highlights:
