U.S Activists Planning Voting Backclash Over Expected Trump Acquital

By Aaron Miller –

U.S  activists are panning a voting backlash over the expected senate acquittal of   President Donald Trump.

Trump is on his way to an acquittal for his impeachment trial after senators voted against calling witnesses or admitting new evidence. As critics blasted the trial as lacking credibility without witnesses and documents allowed as part of the trial.  The Department Of  Justice revealed that  dozen emails related to the President Donald Trump’s involvement in the withholding of millions in security assistance to Ukraine.

Democrats hopes for four swing Republicans to vote for witnesses to the trial had been dashed earlier on the day after U.S senators rejected calls for witnesses to be called up. Only two of the four republicans voted alongside the same lines as Republicans . Republicans are now expected to acquit present Trump across partisan lines on Wednesday. President Trump and his supporters still insist that the president had discretion over his decision to withhold millions of dollars of military aid to Ukraine.

Republicans say it was illegal for the president to with hold military aid for political purposes. . Republicans have no doubt that the Office of Management and Budget is in possession of and continues to withhold significantly more documents and records responsive to the subpoena and of direct relevance to the impeachment inquiry,” the House wrote before it voted to impeach the President for obstruction of Congress.

Indivisible said it would next week call out one of the “nine Payback Project senators for their participating in a cover up by placing a full page newspaper ad in one of their biggest state papers”. It also urged members to start text messaging. After the president was impeached  by Democrats last December, the Republicans are seen to have blocked the two articles of impeachment  handed over to the Senate to decide whether the president should be removed from power , based on allegations that he  was guilty of abuse of his power and obstruction of justice.
