Tyson Fury’s Extraordinary Claim He Drinks Beer During Training Camp

By Tim Parsons-

Tyson Fury has extra ordinarily claimed to drink beer in training camp when preparing for his big heavyweight  fights.

The unbeaten heavyweight claims to have had four pints of beer in camp before he  extended the American WBC heavyweight world champion the full distance in December 2018. Fury who has an unorthodox  approach to everything he does  faces also unbeaten Otto Wallin on Saturday where he plans to extend his unbeaten record to 27 straight wins and inflict the Swedish man’s first defeat.

Talking to seconds out 2 days before his fight, Fury said:

”I drink beer while I’m at training camp, I had four pints of beer before the Wilder fight – the night before, didn’t do me any harm did it?’ the unbeaten 31-year-old told Seconds Out.

‘I’m a man 30-year-old, I’ve been a professional for 11 years, I’m married with five children, if I want some f***ing beers I’ll have some.
‘If the body craves something – give it to it. Why deprive yourself just because it’s fight week?
‘Fighters from the past used to drink a bottle of whisky before going in the ring. It didn’t hurt them did it? Years ago, people use to have a shot of whisky in the corner.
‘The thing is, if you can fight, there is no set way in what you should do. Tyson Fury’s trainer Ben Davison confirmed that the outspoken puncher’s story was true, and added: ‘He’s not lying, when I come down I was like ‘what the f*** is this,’ and he [Fury] was like, “they’re non-alcoholic.”
‘I found out two days later that they weren’t non-alcoholic”.

Fury is favourite to beat Wallin, but his team expect the Swedish fighter to stretch Fury a bit and  give him a few rounds to prepare him for his rematch with Deontey Wilder in February 2020
