Trump Administration In Crisis Battle Over Investigation

By Aaron Miller-

The administration of president Donald Trump is in a crisis battle following the offer by Trump’s former most trusted adviser, Michael Flynn, to testify in the investigation about relations between Russia and Trump’ s aides and Russia.

Trump and his aides are being investigated over allegations of collusion with the Russian government in illegally interfering in the 2016 U.S elections to help Trump win.

Russia is believed to have used sophisticated technology to spread disinformation and fake news to influence voters against Hilary Clinton , the wife of former president, Bill Clinton.

Flynn was recently fired for denying discussing U.S lifting of sanctions against Russia with Russian agent, Sergei Kilsyak, and lying to Vice president , Mike Pence, who repeated the untrue information publicly.

INCRIMINATING

Pence has previously slammed he idea of people volunteering information in exchange for immunity, but finds himself proposing precisely what he condemned. Some believe Flynn may have incriminating evidence against Trump or his aides in relation to the investigation, but Trump this morning called the whole thing a ” witch hunt”.

If Flynn’ s interaction with Kislyak was directed from above, the fired adviser may well want to blow the lid on it if he will be made immune from any prosecution that could result from it.

BATTLE

President Trump administration is engulfed in a highly political battle right now. His planned travel ban restrictions on people from 7 Muslim countries have been blocked by the courts twice and his colleagues in Congress have erected a barrier against his Affordable Health Care Plan, enraging the president in the process.

EXPLOSIVE

Whether Flynn has explosive information he wants to testify is uncertain, but his offer to volunteer information expected to be doing against Trump’ s aide’ s must be very troubling for Trump’ s administration.

Trump has frequently referred to allegations of improper meddling in the last U.S elections by using Russia to discredit Clinton as fake news. Meanwhile Americans await authentic news from the investigation.
