There’s been a notable surge in unexplained phenomena on the East and West Coasts of the United States. coming from the water as opposed to their usual origin of coming from the air, according to Enigma – touted as “the #1 destination for UFO sighting alerts and aerial intelligence” –
Since August 2025, the app has reportedly logged over 9,000 sightings off U.S. shorelines, many of which have been within five miles of the coast. And the greatest area for sightings? California has recorded 389 documented sightings, and Florida has 306.
“There could be an entire advanced civilization coexisting with us here on planet earth,” Media Relations Director for MUFON (the Mutual UFO Network), Ron James, said. “They could be inside the earth, or they could be underwater. It could be a combination of extra-terrestrials that have bases here, or there’s the very real possibility that we’re dealing with an actual additional sentient race here on planet earth.” One of the more prominent videos circulating shows two glowing green lights, as captured from a boat, off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. (See the video above.)
Sightings of unidentified objects, often called Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs) when in the water, emerging from the ocean or lakes mean that these objects possess “transmedium” capabilities (ability to travel seamlessly between air and water). It also suggests the potential for advanced technology that is not currently understood or in the public human inventory, and has led to theories about secret underwater bases or an unknown intelligent presence on Earth.
The primary implication is the existence of a technology that can function effectively in drastically different environments (high pressure underwater and low pressure in the air/space), often described as moving at extreme speeds without an apparent conventional propulsion system or creating a large splash when entering or exiting the water.
Potential for Underwater Bases: The recurring nature of sightings in specific coastal areas has led some, including former Navy personnel, to speculate that these objects might operate from secret underwater bases or use deep ocean areas as hiding spots.
The vast majority of the ocean is unexplored, making it a plausible location for concealment. Military observers, such as retired Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, have raised concerns that this unknown technology poses a significant threat to national security and maritime operations. The ability of these objects to enter restricted U.S. water space without being fully identified or engaged is seen as a major vulnerability. One possibility canvassed by sceptics is that the objects are highly classified, advanced aircraft or drones belonging to a major global power (like the U.S. or China). But most prominent among ufo veteran researchers is the deep seated view that the U.S government have for decades been involved in a cover up about the truth of ufos.
A soon to be released documentary about aliens is set to uncover a litany of hidden secrets about what governments have long know about ufos
Some sightings can be attributed to natural phenomena, such as ball lightning (plasma) rising from the water, or misidentification of conventional aircraft, marine life (whales, sharks), or sensor glitches.
For some experts and the general public, the extraordinary performance and transmedium ability of these objects point to a non-human, potentially extraterrestrial or even an “additional sentient race” origin. The phenomena have fuelled a belief among some, including former U.S. intelligence officials, that governments are withholding information about Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) and USOs from the public and even elected representatives. In essence, UFOs emerging from water point to a profound mystery regarding advanced capabilities and the potential for a presence operating in Earth’s oceans that defies current public understanding.
The claim that undersea UFOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects or USOs) could be evidence of alien existence is a theory that has gained traction, though remains unsubstantiated. This idea suggests that the ocean, a largely unexplored environment, could be a habitat or base for extraterrestrial life, with some proponents citing sightings of unidentified objects with anomalous capabilities, such as traveling between air and sea without a splash.
However, mainstream scientific consensus has not confirmed any extraterrestrial link to these sightings, and many objects are attributed to mundane causes or classified military projects.
Arguments supporting the theory Unexplained sightings: Military personnel and civilians report seeing unidentified objects moving at high speeds and with impossible physics in and out of the water, such as the “Tic Tac” incident involving the USS Omaha.
Some objects appear to be “transmedium,” meaning they can travel seamlessly between space, air, and water without a noticeable impact, which challenges our current understanding of physics.
Vast, unexplored ocean: With 71% of the Earth’s surface covered by water, the ocean remains one of the least explored frontiers, making it a plausible, though unproven, hiding place for advanced technology or life forms.
Many unidentified objects are explainable by natural phenomena, human-made objects like satellites and drones, or secret military technology, yet the topic of UFOs, including undersea sightings, is being taken more seriously, with investigations into “transmedium objects” by government agencies.
Focus on ocean moons: Separately, scientists are actively searching for life in the subsurface oceans of moons like Jupiter’s Europa and Saturn’s Enceladus, which could harbor alien life, but this research is not directly tied to the USO phenomenon on Earth.
Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) or Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) often fall into two broad, contrasting categories: the positive/benevolent theories (aliens as saviors or guides) and the negative/malevolent theories (aliens as threats or exploiters).
These theories generally portray the purported non-human intelligence as a threat to humanity, focusing on themes of invasion, exploitation, and control:
Invasion and Colonization: The belief that aliens are here to conquer Earth and subjugate or eliminate the human race. This aligns with warnings from some scientists, like Stephen Hawking, who suggested that contact with advanced civilizations could lead to colonization.
There is also the exploitation and experimentation A prominent theme, especially prevalent since the 1980s, is that of alien abductions and cattle mutilations. In this narrative, aliens are seen as using humans and animals for biological experimentation, resource extraction, or some other inscrutable, self-serving purpose. However, a core part of many negative theories is the idea that world governments are aware of the alien presence and are actively covering it up, possibly even cooperating with the malevolent entities in exchange for technology or power.
Some theories suggest that aliens may be motivated by resource scarcity in their home systems and view Earth as a target for its water, minerals, or other vital resources.
These theories generally portray the purported non-human intelligence as benevolent, here to help humanity overcome its problems and achieve spiritual or technological advancement:
Spiritual Guides/Saviors: Many “UFO religions” and New Age belief systems center on the idea that aliens are highly evolved spiritual entities (sometimes called “Space Brothers”) who want to help humanity achieve a higher state of consciousness or “ascend” beyond war, fear, and scarcity.
Others view aliens as moral instructors who visit to plead with humanity to improve itself, abandon its violent and greedy ways, and move towards a more peaceful, sustainable society.
Known broadly by ufologists as Guardians/Observers (“Zoo Hypothesis”), this theory suggests that an advanced alien civilization is observing Earth, perhaps waiting until humanity is mature enough or has met certain criteria to be contacted or join a galactic community.
However , The eye of media.com ca confirm that a body of professional researchers who have bee examining ufos for decades are convinced that the latest sightings of ufos from the oceans may be signal malevolence more than peace.
Scientists and observers note that the vastness and mystery of the oceans make them an ideal, largely unexplored frontier that could potentially harbor secrets, including natural phenomena that are currently uncatalogued and could explain some sightings.
Ultimately, the phenomenon remains unidentified, and the “signal” it sends depends entirely on whether one views it through a scientific/skeptical lens or one open to more speculative, including extra-terrestrial, hypotheses.
A prominent theory is that these objects originate from hidden alien or non-human intelligence bases located deep within Earth’s oceans, lakes, or rivers. Proponents of this idea suggest that the vast, largely unexplored nature of the oceans would make them ideal clandestine locations.
“Transmedium” Capabilities: The sightings are often cited as evidence of “transmedium” craft, meaning technology capable of operating seamlessly and at high speeds in air, space, and underwater, which is far beyond current known human engineering.
Advanced or Extraterrestrial Life: For many, these events signal the presence of intelligent life that is either extraterrestrial in origin or perhaps an unknown, advanced civilization native to Earth’s oceans.
