Teenager Charged With Manslaughter After Killing Room Mate Who Was Bringing Down Christmas Decorations

A 17-year-old boy allegedly fatally shot his co-worker and roommate as she was removing Christmas decorations in their home.

Marissa Dikeman (pictured)had gone home to take down Christmas decorations with co-workers she also considered her friends,  and was being assisted by two boys when the killer, Cayman Wilson, pointed at gun at Dikeman and fired, investigators said.

Her grandfather told ABC13 that Dikeman had gotten off work at about 7:30 p.m. and went home to take down Christmas decorations with her coworkers who were also her friends.

One of those teenagers, Cayman Wilson, has now been charged with manslaughter, and doesn’t have a criminal record.

Wilson denied knowing that a short gun with which he entered the room with the victim was loaded.

‘My understanding is that firearm may belong to the victim’s roommates who were not present at the time of the shooting,’ Harris County Sheriff’s Sgt Greg Pinkins told the TV station.

Court documents obtained by the New York Post state that Wilson killed Dikeman ‘while playing with a firearm’.

Wilson has been charged with manslaughter. He is being held at the Harris County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Dickman’s grandparents called Wilson ‘a good kid’ and said they did not want charges to be pressed against him.

‘It’s bad enough that he has to live with what happened the rest of his life,’ Dikeman’s grandfather told KTRK.

Dikeman was studying educational administration at Houston Christian University and was expected to graduate in 2023, her mother  said. She went to Crosby High School and won awards for raising steer, chickens and turkeys.

She worked at the family’s deer processing business less than a half mile from their home on the 4400 block of Sherri Lane, her grandparents said. Dikeman was the youngest of three.

The victim’s grandparents said Wilson was a “good kid”, adding they don’t want him to face a criminal charge for the killing of their beloved granddaughter
