A 13-year-old boy has been charged after two pupils were stabbed at a secondary school in Brent.
The teenager was charged late on Wednesday (February 11) with two counts of attempted murder, possession of a knife on a school premises and unlawfully and maliciously administering a noxious substance with intent to aggrieve.
Police were called to Kingsbury High School in Brent at around 12.40pm on Tuesday (February 10) following reports that two students had been stabbed, our sister title London Now reports.Two boys, aged 12 and 13, remain in hospital in a stable condition.
The investigation was passed to Counter Terrorism Policing London due to the “circumstances surrounding the incident” the Met said, however it has not been declared a terrorist incident.
A 13-year-old boy was arrested around 4.50pm at a mosque in the NW10 area on February 10 and he has since been charged as above.
The boy will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Youth Court later this morning (February 12), the Metropolitan Police has confirmed.
T/Commander Helen Flanagan, from Counter Terrorism Policing London, said: “These are extremely serious charges against a young boy, and we continue to support the victims and their families, as well as the wider school community following this shocking incident.
“While we have now charged the boy with these offences, our investigation is ongoing and detectives will continue to carry out enquiries in the local area.
“We are working closely with local policing colleagues in the Brent area, and I would also like to thank the school and the wider local community for their support in recent days.”
