An American teenager has been charged with murdering an 11 year old girl in a crime that has shocked their neighbourhood. 18 year old Andreas Erazo is accused of murdering Abbiegail ‘Abbie’ Smith who was last seen in her home at the Hancock apartments around 7:45 p.m on Wednesday .
She was reported missing by her mother about an hour later, and her body was found on Thursday morning behind Hancock’s town complex Dozens of candles and balloons were placed at the spot where the young girl-not even a teenager yet-died. The apartment complex where she lived in Keansburg has been cordoned off, whilst police from local enforcement agencies surrounded the area.
Speculation has been rife among young teenagers in the area as to the reason behind the murder, but the eye of media.com will not repeat any rumours that have not been verified. The murder victim is said to have been popular among her friends, many of whom are now in mourning.
A candlelight vigil has been set for 8.30 pm tonight, Friday, in memory of the young girl. Andreas Erazo is reported to have been occupying an abandoned property as a squatter, located close to the victim’s residence.
