British superstar’, Adele, has produced the best selling album release of 2015 in just 3 days. The album sold at least 2.3 million copies by Monday morning, trumping other albums by competing artists this year.
The British singing talent dwarfed Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ , which was previously 2015’s best-selling album this year. Swift had looked the pop queen for this year, dominating sales like an untouchable guru who could not be matched or beaten. Taylor swift did outstandingly well to push 1.8 million copies of her album and has always been a big operator in the music industry.
A year is a long time in music as it is in many things, so whenever an artist sets a record, they know fully well its their responsibility to set the bar high. Artists make music and sell records to convey their view of the world or reflect some experience that stands out in their life or that people can relate to and enjoy . They know their accomplishment may be beaten tomorrow, but they strive to produce the best the can. For generations and even up until now, America have often produced the best talents in music, sports and many other lines of work. It is always refreshing and inspiring hen a British singer comes along and shows their talent and ability to be not only comparable with their foreign counterparts, but also more appealing or endearing.
So when we hear that Adele is breaking records in America, we only have to applaud her hard work, consistency and glowing talent. Expressions of pessimism by some in the industry that her album may not even make the records were proved to be rubbish and ill informed because this beauty queen has just shown everyone what she is made up of. Well done to our Adele. The sky is the limit.
