A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was fatally stabbed in the street. Hazrat Umar, 18, died of his injuries at the scene in Norwood Road in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, on Monday.
CCtv footage of the killer fleeing the scene showed Umar grappling with his killer before he was fatally stabbed in the cowardly attack. Umar(pictured) was the third teenager to die in a stabbing in the city in 12 days. Another teenager, Sidali Mohamed, also 16, died in hospital a fortnight ago on February 15, after being attacked outside a college in Balsall Heath.
West Midland Police said a teenager had been arrested and has now been charged, West Midlands Police said. It comes following a spate of knife killings in the gang ridden city , where like London, the value of young life is given little value in the world of street thugs.
The victim’s family said: “Hazrat Umar was so very loved by all his family, especially his parents.
“They were overjoyed with the birth of their precious son after over 20 years.The emptiness we feel after losing Hazrat can’t be described. “Nobody deserves to have their life ended this way. Hazrat brought warmth, kindness and love to all his family and friends.

One said Hazrat “wasn’t even a trouble maker – there was no beef for someone to stab him”.His death came five days after 16-year-old Abdullah Muhammad was discovered fatally wounded near a park in Small Heath.
Another teenager, Sidali Mohamed, also 16, died in hospital on February 15 after being attacked outside a college in Balsall Heath. “We continue to support Hazrat’s family and this very sad time. I appeal to anyone who has any information and has not yet come forward to contact us at the earliest opportunity.”
