Sex Workers Beg For Government To Save Their Income In Coronavirus Crises

By Lucy Caulkett-

Sex workers are begging in vain for Government support after their income has taking a hit since the coronavirus crisis.

Dirty perverts who are normally happy to pay for a bit of fun are now running a mile in this times, as they smell death associated with the coronavirus.

The English Collective of Prostitutes are campaigning for  most sex workers – who are “mainly single mothers” to be supported by the British government to support their dirty lifestyle that normally gives them an income.
The group was formed as part of the highly politicised prostitutes’ rights movement that emerged in Europe in the mid-1970s.

The ECP and the US PROStitutes Collective (US PROS) are part of the International Prostitutes Collective, which has a network of sex workers in many countries of the world. The organisation are  shamefully calling for access to financial support for sex workers in crisis as the Covid-19 pandemic sweeps across the UK. In a statement, a spokesperson said sex workers were turning to “camming” – using web cams, but that they were feeling the pinch.

“Many of us, and the families who depend on our income, will face destitution if we can’t access whatever emergency money workers win from the government. If sex workers’ contribution to the survival and welfare of people was more visible, our status would rise, and our demands would be seen to be more valid.”

DECRIMINALISATION

The group wants the decriminalisation of sex work and an immediate moratorium on raids, arrests and prosecutions. The group also “demands immediate, appropriate and easy-to-access financial support for sex workers in crisis and worker status so that we can get sick pay, wage relief and the benefits that other workers are demanding.”

“We need rent, mortgage, utility bill relief and emergency housing for homeless sex workers,” the group adds.Prostitution itself is illegal in the Uk, but a number of related activities, including soliciting in a public place, kerb crawling, owning or managing a brothel, pimping and pandering, are illegal and therefore criminal offences.

CAMPAIGN

The campaign of this group for help in these times of the coronavirus reveals their desperation, but only a demented government will financially support those trading in sex for money. Their best advice is to queue up in a job centre, fill in forms and get paid the basic amount of money necessary to live like everyone else in their shoes.
