Queens Kitchen Staff Fuming Over Pay Arrangements

Queens Kitchen Staff Fuming Over Pay Arrangements

By Eric King-

The Queen’s kitchen staff have quit over heavy work demands, according to The Sun.

At least 14 chefs and porters are said to have have left work because they don’t get enough time off. The disgruntled staff members are also reportedly angry because they don’t get extra pay to cover the additional hours they work.

A source close to the Royals told The Sun: “The place is in turmoil and the mood is getting steadily worse.
“People work all hours God sends for no extra pay.
“Nobody gets any time off or sees their families. It’s too much.
“They’ve concluded it’s not worth it any more.
“At least seven chefs have quit, plus other members of staff. Some are very experienced and won’t be easy to replace.”

Compounding the anger of the staff members is the fact they have been required to cater for various members of the Royal family at various residences, without being given any notice. The source added: “Because the Queen now lives at Windsor Castle most of the time, chefs often have to go there, then back to Buckingham Palace for functions.

“Prince Charles uses the staff to throw events. Chefs are also asked to help out at Kensington Palace for William, Kate and Harry, plus dinners at St James’s Palace.” It would be rather odd and wrong if any staff working at Buckingham palace is not getting paid enough to cover their working hours. Buckingham Palace is the residence of the Queen, and money cannot be an object on matters involving her Majesty or any of the Royals.

The claim of a massive walkout at Buckingham Palace is Very strange, but The Sun Newspaper has very strong contacts close to Buckingham Palace and has in past times been able to access exclusive inside information about activities in the palace. This revelation comes as a bit of a shock since most Members of the public would expect Buckingham staff to be completely content with their work and pay arrangements.

It will be generally perceived that anybody working in Buckingham Palace is privileged to be there, complaints about wages is least expected. Whatever the issue there, Buckingham Palace will be trusted to address the situation speedily, so that work can continue as normal. All staff are naturally expected to be paid for extra time, no matter where they work. Buckingham Palace is automatically expected to provide the ultimate standard of leadership in everything, let alone, work and pay arrangements.
