When police arrived at the scene 42-year-old man who returned to the scene had attempted to run away given his own knowledge of the cannabis factory in his home.

After a police officer chased him, the officer was hit in the head a number of times with an object, injuring the officer in the process. The injured officer was taken to a south London hospital where he was treated for multiple injuries to the head, a swollen left cheek bone and a swollen left hand.

The officers colleagues later arrested the man and arrested him for GBH and drug offences. Local youths in the area speculated about the source of the tip off, with some pointing fingers at one of the neighbours, and others suspecting an old girlfriend who may have been holding grudges against the man. One local who wanted to remain anonymous told the eye of media.com that the officer got what he deserved, as he claimed officers in the area were too rough on them, and over patrolled the area.

‘’If people want to grow cannabis for personal use, why should police have a problem with that’’, he argued. However, police often suspect that most people growing cannabis factories intend to sell drugs. several cannabis factories have been discovered this year in London, Essex, Yorkshire, Birmingham, and Manchester. On some of those occasions, the cannabis factories have been discovered following a tip off, whilst on other occasions, police have stumbled into them whilst searching the house for an unrelated incidence.

The growth of cannabis factories in UK properties are not uncommon, but they are illegal with consequences of arrest following any discoveries. The majority of cannabis cultivators get off with a fine and are rarely jailed in recent years.
