Peter Andre To Make Spring West End Debut In New Production

Peter Andre will make his West End debut this spring in the new production of Grease at the Dominion Theatre.

The Mysterious Girl singer announced on ITV’s Good Morning Britain this morning that he is set to star in Grease at London’s Dominion Theatre from May. He will play radio announcer Vince Fontaine in the show.

He told the ITV breakfast show today: “It’s at the Dominion Theatre. It’s Grease I’m in, who doesn’t love the film Grease? And to come and see the stage show is amazing.

Assembled  by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Dame Arlene Phillips and directed by Nikolai Foster, the show is Known for its hit songs Mysterious Girl and Flava .Andre said: “I’m beyond excited to be making my West End debut playing Vince Fontaine in Grease at the beautiful Dominion Theatre.”

He added: “Grease is such an iconic musical and we can guarantee audiences will have the most wonderful evening listening to songs we all know and love. We can’t wait to see you there!”

Fellow castmates included Hairspray and Mamma Mia! alumni Dan Partridge as Danny Zuko while Olivia Moore from Waitress and Heathers will play Sandy.

Pink Ladies will be formed of cast Almgill as Rizzo, Mary Moore as Jan, Lizzy-Rose Esin-Kelly as Marty, and Eloise Davies as Frenchie.

While the T-Birds will be made up of Paul French as Kenickie, Jake Reynolds as Doody, and Damon Gould as Sonny.

The new production of the iconic musical will star previews from May 3 and will have a national press night on May 17.

“Now we’ve toured this show and it’s been incredible, but to be in the West End in one of the biggest theatres. I mean it’s a dream come true for anybody, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.”

He added: “Even though I’ve dabbled in the West End, this is my first residency, I don’t know if the word’s residency, but it’s my first long stint I’ve got there and I’m so, so excited!”

The Australian singer is also mentoring his son,  Junior Andre , alongside his ex-wife Katie Price – as he ventures into the music industry after formally agreeing a deal with Columbia Records. Andre has also highlighted the solid upbringing he has given his son to be polite and have good manners- a quality lacking with many children in the Uk, and even amongst professional adults in many settings.
