Ofcom Flooded By Hundreds Of Complaints From Love Island Viewers

By Lucy Caulkett-

Ofcom has been flooded by hundreds of complaints from love Island viewers  after it was revealed Samira  scenes in the Hideaway was blocked from viewing. Frankie Foster- the only man to show interest in Samira revealed that he and Samira spent the night in the Hideaway together. Their hot scenes were kept away from the television screens, raising suspicions that there was a deliberate agenda to side line the scene for reasons best known to programme makers.

Scenes involving other couples going into the Hideaway were shown on air, in what questions the motive of programme makers in apparently withholding the scene involving Samira, less fancied by the other guys in the house.

The show cited time constraints, given their one hour limitation on air.  That may be true, but it is still a convenient excuse when time constraints don’t affect other saucy scenes from being viewed on air. Considering the many knockbacks Samira received from all the hunks in the villa, it is disappointing that the show did not consider it necessary to at least prioritise her love scene with  Foster.  It was poor judgement on their part.

Frankie Foster was dumped from the villa by viewers on Monday, leaving poor Samira in tears after the only man to show interest in her was forced to leave the villa.  On Thursday, she left the villa to pursue a relationship with Frankie in an attempt to cement her interest in him and perhaps also avoid the possible embarrassment of being isolated romantically again in the villa. After all, Samira would not want to hope to spark a fresh relationship with somebody else so soon after her new man had been booted out.

Programme makers will be expected to provide a better explanation for omitting the Hideaway scenes between Samira and Foster, though it would be interesting to see how Ofcom handle the complaints.Love Island has become a real television hit, and programme makers have already expressed plans to stretch the show for at least another five years. It easily beats big brother for television appeal and reveals a lot about various individuals as we watch their every move in daily action on in the villa.

Samira was photographed meeting Foster at Gatwick airport by a bystander acquainted to a Daily Mail journalist, and ofcourse they happily published the exclusive showing the pair’s romantic reunion. It can only be hoped their relationship lasts, but it looks bad on the part of programme makers that she was left out.
