The warning from a frontline nurse working in New York on coronavirus patients that putting Covid-19 patients on ventilators is murder has sent shock waves round Newyork in particular.
The frontline nurse apparently asked a trusted friend of hers to sound the alarm via a youtube post.
‘It’s a horror movie,’ she said through a friend. ‘Not because of the disease, but the way it is being handled.’ The woman said relatives of the sick need to make it clear as soon as a person is taken to the hospital that they do not want them hooked up to the breathing machines.
The nurse, who has relocated to New York temporarily to help with the city’s COVID-19 crisis, persuaded a nurse practitioner friend who is not working on coronavirus patients to make the video for her and tell the world what is happening inside hospitals. Her warning suggests that the use of ventilators is a faster killer than Covid-19 itself because of the way it is handled inside hospitals in Newyork.
”People are sick, but they don’t have to stay sick. They are killing them, they are not helping them,’ the friend posted on the YouTube video
‘She used the word murder, that coming from a nurse who went to New York City expecting to help.’Patients are left to rot and die — her words. People are being murdered and no one cares.’ Sara would not reveal which hospital the nurse is working in ‘for the safety of those involved. Her warning on youtube was first featured on the DailyMail Online
in the Uk and will increase concerns that the deaths of Covid-19 patients may have been recklessly accelerated through wrong practise.
Sara says COVID-19 patients ought to be placed on less invasive CPAP or BiPAP machines, not ventilators. The warning comes after several thousands of deaths in Newyork people have died from the virus in New York City, with another 4,300 dying in other parts of the Empire State, which is a far larger number than any other state in the country.
The choice of the word murder is extreme because it suggests a deliberate killing of Covid-19 victims through the use of ventilators, which we hope Sara is not insinuating in her warning.
