Michael Wolff’s Book On President Trump Is Selling Fast

By Sammie Jones-

An early batch of Michael Wolff’s explosive book on US  president Donald Trump has sold out at Waterstones “in minutes”.

The exclusive book by Fire And Fury’s is set to cause a stir of high magnitude after representatives from Trump’s team accused Steve Bannon of defamation following some of the revelations or claims in the book. The release date was brought forward by four days to January 5, with publisher Henry Holt and Co citing “unprecedented demand”.

Amazon had initially quoted a date of January 10, and many bookstores in the UK not expecting deliveries until next week, the small number of copies which landed at Waterstones Piccadilly on Friday “flew off the shelves in minutes”. Trump’s victory in the U.S 2016 elections was spectacular, but many of his comments during his campaign, including revelations about aspects of his past has alarmed many of his critics.

Condescending comments towards women in the early years of his political career shocked many people, and his initial ban on Muslims countries caused an international stir. However, Trump has been extraordinary in his single-handed decision to declare Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, leading to protests and much disapproval.

However, Trump has continued to overcome the odds in the face of the ongoing investigation into alleged links in collaborating with Russia in interfering with the U.S 2016 elections. He has since launched ambitious missions into space and continues to be very daring and powerful in his pursuits.

The American president got many worried over many of his tweets in relation to North Korea but later exercised restraint in a manner that showed him open to some good advice. The book will open up many areas of interest and debate, taking us to an uncertain destination.

A spokeswoman for Waterstones told the Press Association: “We haven’t seen this level of interest in a political title in some time, and the media and customer interest in Fire And Fury in the UK, the US and elsewhere is indicative of the global fascination with President Trump and his administration.

“We are doing a brisk trade on Waterstones.com and we had a small but welcome early delivery to our Piccadilly shop today, all copies of which, unsurprisingly, flew off the shelves in minutes.”

Mr. Wolff’s bases the claims in his new book on testimonies from Steve Bannon who was recently the chief strategist of President Trump. The book is also based on over 200 interviews, including three hours said to be from Mr. Trump himself.

Trump’s team has denied the claims that the U.S president contributed to the book, but Woolf insists the president contributed to the book.

“I absolutely spoke to the president, whether he realized it was an interview or not, but it certainly wasn’t off the record,” Wolff told NBC’sToday show Friday.

Wolff told Savannah Guthrie he had records and notes of some 200 interviews with people in the White House but dodged a question on whether he would release tapes of the conversations.

“I have records, I have noted,” he replied. “I am certainly in every way comfortable with everything I have reported in this book.” The book is expected to be a big sell, but it could also lead to lawsuits if the president’s team want to take it that far.

A small number of copies were at Waterstones Piccadilly on Friday (
But the Republican president tweeted that the book was “full of lies, misrepresentations, and sources that don’t exist”. He wrote: “I authorized zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for the author of the phony book! I never spoke to him about the book.”

The author’s hotly anticipated new title is currently the number one bestselling book on Amazon’s UK site.

Waterstones added that select stores will have some stock of the book over the weekend and that the company expects “to sell those with little hesitation”. It said that by Tuesday, all Waterstones stores should have copies of the title.
