Mercedes Benz Stolen In Front Of Owner At Tesco

By Edward Trotter-

A Mercedes Benz was stolen in front of its owner at a Tesco Brooklands car park in Weybridge

The selfish thieves brazenly approached the driver who was adding air to his tyres with a portable pump, and ordered him to “get away”.

They then took his car keys and drove away in his car without concern.

The incident occurred around 6.20pm on Friday, February 16, leaving the owner shocked and horrified. Car theft is not uncommon in the Uk, or anywhere in the world, but it is not common for someone’s car to be stolen right before their very eyes.

The suspects are described as Asian, in their 20s, and were both wearing jeans and dark hoodies. One was wearing a woolly hat. The owner of the car is remaining anonymous for his safety, and is reportedly in pieces of the theft.

Car thieves are extremely heartless individuals with no sense of sympathy or empathy. Most of them eventually sell the car on the black market to low life street individuals or drug dealers at a reduced price after changing the number plates. These days, knowledgeable and experienced cops who radio in on a car’s number plate are quick to stop drivers if the age and description of the registered owner does not match with the person driving it.

The most difficult car thefts to solve are those in which the thieves sell the body parts to car dealers after stripping it completely of its identity, making its recovery impossible. One known fact is that many young car thieves chasing quick cash for a luxurious car will flog the car to someone with a big mind who wants to drive something they can’t afford at a cheap cost.

PC Charlie Leegood, who is leading the investigation investigating, said:

“This is a very unusual crime – it is very rare for a car to be taken while the owner is present – and the owner is understandably shocked by what has happened.

“I want to speak to anyone who was shopping at Tesco Brooklands between 6pm and 6.30pm yesterday evening, and may have seen these two men in the car park or have seen the car being taken.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who saw a Black Mercedes E220, registration RX64 YSF, making off from the area at speed, or anyone who knows where the car is now.”
