21 Man Charged With Murder Of Black Belt Taekwondo Jordan Bari

Eric King-

A 21-year-old man has been charged with the murder of martial arts Taekwondo expert Jordan Bari in east London.

Police last week released CCTV footage of 3 men running away suspiciously 40 minutes  after the murder. Police did not say why they considered the three men to be of interest to the case, except ‘‘that they looked suspicious”.

Mr Bari, 20, was shot at “point blank rage” as he answered the door to a home in Florida Street, Bethnal Green, just after 8pm last Monday.

Bobby Lawrence, of Canonbury Street, Islington, was arrested on Wednesday this week and has now been charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence. whether he was one of the 3 men captured on CCTV has not been mentioned by police, but the cps believe they have enough evidence that is likely to secure a conviction.

Lawrence will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on October 14. Two other men, aged 29 and 21,  previously arrested at the scene in connection with the killing were subsequently released with no further action.

Bari was a black belt in Taekwondo, and also a winner of a number of trophies for the well known Gurumu Taekwondo club in East London, where representatives for the Great Britain Olympic squad train. Following a number of gun shots heard in the communal hallway of the housing block, the Taekwondo expert was found in a pool of blood in the stairway. He died 45 minutes later.  Bari would not be an easy target to subdue physically, so his killer opted for the most lethal way to eliminate the talented  Taekwondo youngster.

TaekwondoComrades at his Taekwondo club  were still in shock when the eye of media.com got in touch to probe the potential cause of the killing and find out a bit more about Bari. ” A lot of people are still shocked”, said one man who did not want to be named, he was a nice guy and very committed to training. His dedication was unbelievable, and he always reached out to teach others. I can’t comment on the murder case”, the gentleman said.

Bari’s killers knew exactly where to find him, and by all accounts, he did not actually reside at the address where he was killed. However, he had been staying there for a while, the reasons of which have not yet been made known. Police investigated the circumstances in which Bari had been staying at the address, and worked on their investigation from there, in addition to diligent forensic examination at the scene. Insiders at the Metropolitan police told the eye of media.com that police have now established a probable motive for the killing, but could not discuss the details whilst the case is still in process.
