Idea Covid-19 Was Made To Control World Population Ranks Top On Theories Brits Believe

The idea that COVID-19 was man-made to control the world’s population has been ranked the top of conspiracy theories the British public believe to be true, according to a survey.

With Covid-19 a topic that has affected everyone one of us one way or another, directly or indirectly, it has led to a multiplicity if views connected to the deadly virus and all that may be connected to it.

The survey reveals that 38% of the British public believe that COVID-19 was made in a lab to lower the Earth’s population – 38%. Alongside this, the survey also revealed that 28% of the public still believe Covid-19  is a cover so Bill Gates can implant trackable microchips in people – 19%

Further results from the survey of more than 3,000 members of the public revealed that a third (34%) of Brits also believe that Donald Trump is being blackmailed by Russia, and more than a quarter (29%) think that UFOs have been seen in Area 51.

Google Trends search data also shows that Bob Lazar, the famous whistleblower of Area 51, experienced a surge in searches at the end of July, following the release of the Netflix documentary on the topic.

The survey which posed a number of questions to those taking part also found that 29% of the British public believe that UFO and alien sightings have been seen in Area 51 – 29%

It also shows that despite theories of  a link between 5G and COVID-19  being refuted , 28% of the public still believe there is a connection between the two.  is a cover so Bill Gates can implant trackable microchips in people – 19%

The idea that the  moon landings were faked  is believed by 17%, 18% believe The Loch Ness monster is real – 16%.  The possibility that  vaccines cause autism is believed by 14% of the public, and the same proportion(14%) believe that climate change is a hoax.

Other conspiracy theories stated by participants which did not make the top 20 list include the moon is not real, the Queen is a cannibal and that dinosaurs never existed.

When asked, eight in 10 (81%) participants confirmed that they believe in a conspiracy theory of some kind and a further fifth (20%) admit to being embarrassed in doing so.

Interestingly, there are still  7% of the British public who believe Elvis didn’t die in 1977 and lived for years after , another  7% who believe Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced by a lookalike – 7%.

Just  6% believe The CIA assassinated JFK – 6%, 5% believe the earth is flat , and another 5% believe that The Illuminati control the world

Just 1 % believe in The Rapture -the belief share by christians that all believers , both alive and deceased, will rise into the clouds to meet the Lord in the air at the end of time for his ‘second coming’ if they are found in a righteous state.

“We hear conspiracy theories discussed everywhere, from fables to celebrity rumours. Since the start of the pandemic a few theories have gained widespread traction and as such we were intrigued to see just how many people believe in a conspiracy theory, and what the most popular ones are.

“It was also interesting to discover just how many people believe in a conspiracy theory of some kind, but it wasn’t surprising at this current time, to see that the ‘COVID-19 is man-made’ theory top the list.
