Hundreds Of Brits Flock To Westminster In Celebration Of Brexit

By Gabriel Princewill-

Hundreds Of  Brits have flocked to the streets of London’s Westminster district, the centuries-old home of the country’s legislature.A music system was set up on the back of a lorry on Parliament Street, as revellers danced in a closed-off section of the road to music by Sir Tom Jones and Queenund the Sir Winston Churchill statue, while others rang bells and banged a drum attached to a modified cart called Little Ben.

It has been nearly 50 years since the United Kingdom signed up join other European  countries as a sign of economic and political integration, designed to heal the wounds of the past arising from the second world war that saw millions killed. The union was sign of economic prosperity, to promote a spirit of ‘togetherness’. It lasted decades but later became an issue for strong objectors who felt it was eroding the national identity of Brits.

Critics strongly disagree and perceived the break from the union as heavily misguided and precarious. Boris Johnson has always disagreed and considers the departure from the over four decade union as something new and advancing with potentially high prospects. Mr. Johnson acknowledged that there would be those who felt “a sense of anxiety and loss,” but insisted that Britain’s exit from Europe was “not an end but a beginning.”
