How Prince William Will Explain Euro 2021 Final Defeat And Drama To Prince George

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will have the task of explaining why England didn’t win Euro 2021 to his son Prince George, and potentially educate him about race issues, if his son is aware of the racial buses that hurled at three black players after they missed their penalties in the final of the Euro 2021.

The future king was in outstanding company in Wembley,  where other celebrity and political figures also gathered. Actors Kate Moss and Tom Cruise, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Italy President Sergio Mattarella, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie were present at Wembley.

The players subsequently faced racial abuse on social media, after the defeat. Prince William condemned the racism and consoled the team, after  consoling his son who was visibly upset after the  disappointing loss.

Prince George had been treated to England’s best performance in a national tournament, and was literally minutes away from witnessing a victory of a life time when Italy equalized and then beat England on penalties. All three players who failed to score where black. A child can be forgiven for asking why all the black players missed their penalties, and it won’t be racism, it would be observation. They were young, they were nervous and inexperienced, they were not warmed up. Being black was just a common factor in all of them, but that’s not why they missed their penalties.

Prince William has the difficult  but important task of  educating his son  about racism  after all the news in the media condemning the racists. Young George showed various emotions, going from joy to sadness and reflecting the mood of various England supporters in the Euro final against Italy at Wembley Stadium last Sunday.

The Duke and Duchess Of Cambridge will need to selectively and carefully teach their son about the equality of humanity, and let him understand that humans of all races are basically equal, and should be judged on their character and achievement. They will want to expose him to books that have a mixture of black and white kids featured in them.

Books with pictures of children playing in the company of their own race is also good because it exposes them to different circumstances in which they may find themselves.   would not be bead either because children should be taught to prepare for the different circumstances in which they could find themselves in the real world whether for a short period or long period.

Seven-year-old George had been enjoying the match with his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, in a VIP box, and was seen cheering in jubilation and hugging his parents when Luke Shaw gave England the lead in the second minute of the match.  He was having a good day, until Italy equalized and kept him enjoying every bit of the game.

The game turned sour after England lost on penalties, and would have noticed that all the players who missed their penalties were black. What he made of that is unknown, but he may have become aware about the racist abuse against the three players.

Prince George will be told that England manager Gary Southgate made a poor judgement in bringing the three players on so late in the match, and they didn’t perform. It will be explained to the youngster  that the bad decision cost England, but

The Duke of Cambridge was as clear as crystal in his disappointment through an Instagram post minutes after the match ended. “Heartbreaking. Congratulations @Azzuri on a great victory. @England, you’ve all come so far, but sadly this time it wasn’t our day. You can all hold your heads high, and be so proud of yourselves — I know there is more to come. W,” read his post.

Others amongst the VIP PRESENT the list included former footballers David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Geoff Hurst, Alessandro Nesta, Gianluca Zambrotta and former England manager Fabio Capello.

Actors Kate Moss and Tom Cruise, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Italy President Sergio Mattarella, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie were present at Wembley.

The Duke sent a personal tweet to the England team on Sunday night after the result, writing: “Heartbreaking. Congratulations @azzurri on a great victory. @England, you’ve all come so far, but sadly this time it wasn’t our day. You can all hold your heads high, and be so proud of yourselves — I know there’s more to come. W.”

William, who is the President of the Football Association, also condemned the racist abuse aimed at England players after the final in a personal tweet on Monday, writing: “I am sickened by the racist abuse aimed at England players after last night’s match. It is totally unacceptable that players have to endure this abhorrent behaviour. It must stop now and all those involved should be held accountable. W.”
