Russell Brand’s guide to the disease of addiction, from the perspective of a former addict who battled and overcame heroine, is aimed at helping addicts progressively make the necessary steps to recovery.

‘Bookseller’ online publication said Russell Brand will “ gently and humorously” recount his story and share the advice and wisdom he has gained through the 13 years of recovery.

Bluebird publishes books from topics on fiction to Non-fiction, as well as children and poetry.

ADDICTION

It also aims to address the suffering along the ” the full spectrum of addiction – From serious, life-threatening misuse of substances to “ more subtle but still troubling” addictions like getting trapped in unhealthy and destructive relationships to avoid difficult feelings”.

MISSION

addictionRussell Brand is on a mission to use the lessons learned from his experience of addiction to help addicts conquer their demons and see a bright future in a drug-free life that will move them to greener pastures.

Russell Brand’ s story of drug addiction is well documented, and the way he overcame it and became a modern day celebrity is one that should give every addict a hope of beating their addiction.

Last March, the comedian opened The Trews Cafe, staffed by recovering addicts to help those in recovery.

ADDICTS

Russell Brand’ s mission is driven by his philosophy that ” the object of addiction is less important than the condition”, and through recovery, former addicts can change the world.

However, changing the world will take more than mere recovery, especially as most heroin addicts have the very limited skill set. Russell Brand may want to consider setting up a scheme that provides recovering addicts with the necessary skills to change the world.

TALENT

There will be addicts who-who possess talent but need a helping hand to beat their addiction and make the world a better place. In that respect, Russell Brand’ s book with bluebird will be inspirational, ut may require more practical steps to actually enable many recovering addicts to help change the world.
