Google’s £1bn Investment Plan And Calls For Accurate Stories

Google has announced the opening of a new headquarters building in London aimed at creating  3,000 new jobs created by 2020.

Google, which currently employs about 4,000 people, highlighted the importance of free movement for skilled migrants to the success of the UK technology sector which its new investment will tremendously enhance.

The news of the investment comes as a major boost to Britain’s technology sector.  However, sources at the technology company expressed the view that the mammoth investment could be at risk following the Brexit referendum vote scheduled to take Britain out of the EU.
The comment appears to be a nudge to the Supreme court to uphold the High Court judgment to compel the U,K government to allow a vote on Brexit before triggering Article 50 to begin the official process of Brexit.
 Mr Pichai said false stories about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton may have affected the outcome of the US election, given the very narrow margin of victory. He stressed the importance for companies like Google and other social media businesses to promote “accurate” stories to their billions of users. However, the U.S elections were mainly decided on propaganda, and the wide distrust against Hilary Clinton sparked by the revelations by Wikileaks and the investigation to Clinton’s private use of an email server during her post as U.S Secretary of State.
 Accurate stories are truly important and it is the responsibility of all social media businesses and media publications individuals and publications who publish false or inaccurate stories should be exposed.
 Google’s new building in King’s Cross in addition to the cost of employing thousands more staff is estimated at over £1 bn, especially as their office space is now expected to be expanded. Google is the world’s biggest platform for the spread of news, giving users a world – wide platform to share information.
