Former Indian Lawmaker Disgraceful Guilt Of Raping Underage Girl

A former law maker has been found guilty of   raping an underage girl in case typical of known abuse by Indian law makers that shames the democracy .Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was a legislator in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh and a member of  the Bharatiya Janata Party was found guilty of raping and kidnapping a teenager in 2017, in a high-profile case

The girl and her father endured a difficult process in trying to get local police to act, due to the attacker’s position as an influence politician. was an influential politician. Sengar’s brother then assaulted the father, who was also jailed for alleged firearm possession in April 2018. The girl alleges  she was taken to his home on June 4, 2017 on the pretext of being hired for a job. The woman says she was then repeatedly gang-raped at the property over several days.

A suicide attempt by the girl sparked  public outrage against Sengar , forcing the trial of the former lawmaker.Last summer, the victim’s two aunts were killed while bringing the girl to a hearing for a connected case. The victim survived the incident in which a truck rammed into their car. A murder investigation is underway, with local media reporting that it is believed the act was carried out on Sengar’s insistence. He was kicked out of the BJP party shortly after.

Kuldeep Singh Sengar, an ex-legislator in India’s most populous state of Uttar Pradesh, is set to be sentenced later this week.The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also filed charges against five people for murder, rioting, voluntarily causing hurt, breaching peace, and criminal intimidation in relation to the April 2018 incident.

“A tirade was unleashed upon the girl and her family members… where imprints of the accused Sengar were quite visible,” the presiding judge said. Over 40 per cent of lawmakers in India’s new Parliament face criminal charges, including  murder and rape , according to reliable sources in Delhi. 29 of the 52 Congress MPs face cases. Dean Kuriakose from Idukki, in Kerala state, faces 204 criminal cases.

One Member of Parliament for the opposition Congress party is engaged in 204 cases, including manslaughter and robbery, the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) said Research from the Thomson Reuters Foundation shows it is the most dangerous country on earth for sexual violence against women. Recently, in Unnao, the same area of Uttar Pradesh where Sengar attacked his victim, a girl was set on fire by a group of five men, two of whom were accused of raping her, while she was on her way to court. She survived but sustained severe burns.
