The fighting spread outside the court, as family and friends of both the defendants and the victim also broke out.

The court was subjected to delay on more than one occasion, as the pair began fighting in the dock. Security officers were forced to intervene, and one of the two defendants- Dontey Ellis, claimed he was being intimidated. The two teens have been jailed for life after murdering a shopkeeper  Jaskaran Kang’s at  Stourbridge Road flat wielding weapons – including a ‘Rambo sword’ and zombie knife – and demanding drugs and cash.

The victim had been selling cannabis, which the convicted defendants sought to rob, alongside mr.Kang’s cash.
The Eye Of Media.Com has heard from sources in Birmingham who knew the defendants that mr.Kang, or one of his associates may also have been selling class A drugs, but no evidence of such was stated in court. She said: “He was such a loving boy, full of energy and always smiling, no matter what.

“His life has been tragically cut short by these four cruel strangers. The pain we are going through will never end”

CCTV images featured four men leave a Ford Focus after it parked up on nearby Spring Parklands at around 2.15am on January 6 last year. Mr Kang routinely took calls from cannabis customers, before asking his flatmate

The men were both in possession of weapons and wearing balaclavas, walked to the shop’s side door before kicking it off its hinges. Mr. Kang, who sensed his death coming told his friend to tell his family and friends he loved them. Detectives used CCTV, DNA, and mobile phone evidence to identify the gang.
