Essex Landlord To Evict All Tenants Over Rent Arrears

By Eric King-

An Essex landlord is to evict all his tenants this month after threats to repossess his home.

Robert Crowe has written to five of his tenants, and given them a week to pay up over Mortgage arrears.

He has a £15,000 debt hanging over his property over Mortgage arrears .

Crowe says he will not issue them with a section 21 because they have hardly paid any rent, and those with tenancy aggrements have been doing drugs on the property.

All his five tenants apart from one are behind on their rent , with three of the tenants having paid between £80-100 in the past two months. Many of his indebted tenants have complex problems. One woman who pleaded for anonymity, said she lost all her belongings her belongings when she was evicted from her previous flat in Hackney, East London, and is finding it impossible to get any state benefit .

She told The Eye Of Media.Com.that she was homeless for months. ”I slept outside hospitals , at coach stations, it was a nightmare,”. She was introduced to mr.Crowe who accommodated her on the trust she would receive government money to pay her rent. However, after over a month of staying at the property, she has still not paid a penny in rent.

..Two other of his tenants- a Polish couple- – are not entitled to state benefits and have paid just £180 rent in three months. Another male upstairs s over £300 in arrears

Mr, Crowe told The Eye Of Media.Com: ” I can’t have people living here for free anymore. . I take them on in good faith but all I get is stories. I have a load of trumped up charges against me on top of Mortgage arrears, The council has put prohibition orders on some of my property without justification

Some of his tenants have threatened legal action in the event of being thrown out because of alleged rent arrears.34 year old Matthew Fell told The Eye Of Media.Com:” I only get £591 a month and I give him £300 a month, I can’t give him any more, I don’t have much too live on. The room isn’t worth what mr.Crowe wants for it. The DWP won’t pat that”.

Mr.Crowe insists that that tenants must pay what they have contracted, not challenge his rent charges.
