Distinguished solicitors are still basking in the celebration of  this year’s annual Law Society Excellence Awards.

Legal experts gathered last week to honour prominent and well accomplished professionals  known to be excelling in their fields , and who have made an impact to others through their profession.The event celebrated Professionals and their firms by recognising distinguished talents across categories covering all areas of legal practice and business.

A insider from the Solicitors Regulation Authority told The Eye Of Media.Com that:

”it is important solicitors who provide a brilliant service are celebrated as it serves as a point of motivation for those in the legal field to know that their expertise and hard work does not go unnoticed. Many solicitors will be motivated to make their mark whilst being mindful to honour their duties and moral expectations in all their endeavours.

”Despite the disciplinary action that occurs each time a solicitor is found breaching expected standards, there are many hardworking solicitors with great skills and integrity worth acknowledging. We are always proud of those honourable and committed solicitors who give their all to their profession and make a notable impact”.

In an age were access to justice can be very expensive and problematic, some solicitors and lawyers were credited for their high efforts and professionalism in achieving exploits.

The annual Law Society Excellence Awards is the most prestigious awards ceremony for solicitors in England and Wales.

A lawyer who led the action to prevent the release of ‘black cab rapist’ John Worboys was among 23 winners at the annual Law Society’s Excellence Awards – the most prestigious awards ceremony for solicitors in England and Wales.

President of the Law Society of England and Wales, Simon Davis, said: “In such uncertain times, we must never forget the immense contribution that solicitors make to society. Our work is indispensable to upholding the rule of law.

“At the Law Society Excellence Awards, we come together to celebrate outstanding success in the sector.

“There are more than 180,000 solicitors in England & Wales: to be shortlisted is to be recognised among the best. To win is a remarkable achievement.”

EXCELLENCE

The winner, Paul Hastings LLP, were lauded for their partnership with multiple charities leading to significant improvements in children’s rights.

Richard Kitchen, partner at Paul Hastings LLP said: “We entered the Excellence in Access to Justice award because we thought it was important to highlight the excellent work that the Youth Justice Legal Centre does and, to highlight to the legal profession more generally, the importance of the youth justice issues the charity faces.”

Harriet Wistrich, of , won the Law Society Gazette Legal Personality of the Year. She has used the law to secure accountability for violence against women, as a solicitor and founder of the Centre for Women’s Justice – including leading on the high-profile Worboys case.

A Lifetime Achievement Award was given to former Law Society president Lucy Scott-Moncrieff, who currently sits as the House of Lords Commissioner for Standards. She is known as a powerful mental health advocate and human rights lawyer – and as an ardent promoter of the profession and its values.

Winners of the awards were bursting with joy and feeling on top of the world. Tamsin Allen of Bindmans LLP received the Solicitor of the Year award  Private Practice, for pioneering work successfully defending high-profile whistle-blowers ,most notably in the Cambridge Analytica and ‘Vote Leave’ cases.

The Excellence in Access to Justice was introduced this year to recognise those who champion access to legal services for those who need it most. The winner, Paul Hastings LLP, were lauded for their partnership with multiple charities leading to significant improvements in children’s rights.
