It has been 4 months since the tragic news hit us that Anne Kirkbride who plays Deirdre Barlow had sadly lost her fight too cancer. The legend who played Peter and Tracy’s mum and been one of the longest characters off all time. Being faithful too the street for 42 years it’s only fitting her send off is one too remember. The episode will reach our screens in July this year and it has been overly thought through with the bosses getting help from Anne’s family. Anne’s husband of 23 years even approved the burial plot on set describing it “Fit for a legend”, the funeral is calm and collected with only close friends and family invited.
Chris Gascoyne who plays bigamist Peter Barlow is also returning in summer for the funeral. He fled after gaining his freedom after he was wrongly accused of murdering Tina (Michelle Keegan, FHM’s sexiest woman) How will Carla feel? will the pair re-unite?
ROBERT PRESTON’S BACK:
For those of you who can’t remember who Robert Preston is; he was married to our favourite bad girl Tracy Barlow in 1996. Originally played by Julian Kay, the pair were married until 2002, when ex convict Tracy cheated on him. Now back after 13 years to pay his respects to his ex mother-in-law Tracy is in for a shock. Needing a shoulder too cry on she quickly falls back into Preston’s arms. The stud who has taken on the Chef’s role is played by Casualty’s own Tristan Gemmill, “He brings gravitas to the role” Producer Stuart Blackburn shared.
Tristan, 47, is best known for playing BBC’s casualties Consultant Adam Trueman for five years before leaving in 2011 and he’s also starred in Death In Paradise, London’s Burning and Atlantis.
Despite the romance which seems too have re-ignited between the ex wife and husband there’s a big bomb her flame doesn’t reveal until it’s too late and it’s undoubtedly too late as he seems too be here too stay after landing a job in Nick’s Bistro. The trouble maker is still married to his second wife.
Tristan shared “Coronation Street is a great British institution and it will be a huge challenge to meet the expectations of its devoted audience but it is a challenge I am really looking forward to.” He said: “I’m excited to be joining such an iconic show. Stuart Blackburn expressed “We’re all delighted to have him on board and I can’t wait to see him striding down those famous cobbles”

After signing a one year contract it’s safe too say he’s here too stay and a wife, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm could it be girl’s aloud “Sarah Harding” who is also joining the square in July and is set too give Tracy Barlow nothing but hell????
