Connor Benn’s Uncle Tells Amir Khan To Put Up Or Shut Up

By Tim Parsons-

Connor Benn’s uncle, Danny Benn has responded to Amir Khan’s recent patronising comments about Connor Benn, by telling Khan.

”Connor is too fresh, too young and too fast for you”.

Connor, 24, the son of the legendary former British world champion, Nigel Benn, produced a master class in dispatching of his opponent in one round, taking his wins to 18-0(1).

It follows a reaction from Khan in response to Connor Benn’s victory  on twitter, saying well done,”  on Twitter. “Great kid, wish him the best.

“At his age I was a world champ. Maybe if he had some belts that fight would make sense but he’s got a long way to go yet.”

Danny, 59,  a former amateur boxer whose career was scuppered after he was attacked by thugs several decades ago, remains an active fan of the sport.NIGEL BENN’S BROTHER BASHES NEIGBOUR FOR NIGGER AB– USE

Reacting to Khan’s comments,  Danny told The Eye Of Media.Com:  Amir Khan is just talking cheap talk, the bottom line is Amir was good in his day, but this is Connor’s time to shine. Connor has called him out, he either takes the fight, or shuts up.

If Amir was to fight my nephew now,  I know what the outcome would be. He will get stopped. It’s as simple as that”.

Speaking about his  nephew’s brutal first round victory.

Danny said: “ it doesn’t surprise me boy.  Connor is fast and powerful, he is a Benn.

Danny had incidentally been on a zoom chat discussing an upcoming project to promote responsible father figures for children, when the news came in about Khan’s reaction to Connor’s open challenge for a potential future clash with the 2004 olympic silver medalist.

I told everyone I wouldn’t be surprised if I got him out of there in the first round,” Benn told Fight Night on talkSPORT.

“People want to keep questioning me, saying it is a step up? Nothing is a step up, it ain’t a step up.

“Who was it really a step up for? Every time he stepped up, he failed. But people want to question me and what I can do.

“I beat Formella at his game, I beat the boxer at his game, and then tonight I beat the fighter at his game.

Danny said: “ it doesn’t surprise me boy.  Connor is fast and powerful, he is a Benn,  winning in second nature to him. He will be world champion”.

A proud family man, Danny had earlier in the day spoken  fondly about the generosity of Connor to his family, particularly his grandmother.

”Connor is such a nice, loving kid, who is very dedicated to the sport. He gives it 100% commitment, and his confidence is sky high. He will only get better, and he has time on his side”.
