British Public Still Do Not Trust Official Covid-19 Death Statistics

By Ashley Young–

The British public still do not trust the current official Covid-19 deaths, an ongoing survey reveals.

A survey being conducted by The Eye Of Media.Com, reveals that 62% of the British public still do not trust the figures because of the known exaggeration that occurred during the first half of this year. However, most believe the situation is worrying.

Admission by the British government in the summer that a number of people who died of other causes had Covid-19 put on their death certificates has fuelled deep seated doubts about true death rates relating to COVID-19.

Other Causes

Revelation that a number of people who died of other causes long after  testing positive  for COVID-19 had COVID-19 put on their death certificate  is something members in the public continue to make reference when asked for their views about the reliability of the figures. Several members of the public cite the government’s own words at the time that ”many people who tested positive for Covid-19 had Covid put on their death certificate, even if they died of a motorbike crash months later”

The Office Of National Statistics has since adjusted their counting system to only include deaths 28 days after testing positive for COVID-19, but that has done little  to sway sceptics.

Only 1200 people have so far been surveyed in the Uk by this publication, and many more are yet to be questioned. Close to 55%(53%) of those interviewed acknowledge the reality and  seriousness of the virus, with 20%  considering it a hoax, and the other 27% considering the virus to be just a seasonal flu.

85% of those surveyed are against another national lockdown,(70% think it is inevitable) but a  sizeable  72% support the three tier system of restrictions recently introduced by the British government.  An interesting observation from the research was that a high 91% believe the government’s decision to shut down pubs after 10pm is wrong and not logical- many stating thaty the virus doesn’t spread more at night after 10pm.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock addressed this issue when the rule was made, saying that the chances of increased violence by those intoxicating with alcohol could add more pressure on already overwhelmed hospitals.

On whether Boris Johnson’s government has done its best to support affected businesses during the pandemic, a very high 95% said the government has done well when it comes to supporting businesses

Participants in the research include tube passengers outside of the peak rush hour, university students, and individuals in pubs. All of those who have expressed doubt in the numbers and made reference to the revelations in June that the numbers were exaggerated.

Students appear to be one of the most cynical about official data relating to COVID-19 deaths, playing down the figures in the face of growing concerns they have been one of the most responsible groups for spreading infections.

Students were generally vocal against the credibility of covid-19 deaths. One student who insisted on anonymity said: ”it seems the Nhs put covid-19 on as many death certificates as possible during the first lockdown, but we are now expected to believe they have suddenly had a change of heart, Most people know the Covid death certificates was a business for hospitals’.

”We are expected to take this pandemic seriously, with then knowledge that death certificates were fraudulently changed for selfish purposes. Boris Johnson has been on record wanting a free economy, but then changes suddenly like a chameleon once scientists start singing in his ears”.

Longer Lockdown

Increased numbers of deaths connected to the new strain of the coronavirus  has led to some scientists calling for a longer national lockdown in the Uk until the virus comes down substantially, possibly until next spring. Others have called  for a shielding of vulnerable people to protect jobs. Those concerns have fallen on deaf ears, as scientists advising the government continue to favour  national lockdowns
