By Tony O'Riley

The office an MP has been vandalised with graffiti.

Iain Duncan Smith, the Conservative MP for Chingford and Woodford Green arrived at  his offices this morning in Station Road, Chingford to discover that it had  been vandalised when he arrived for work this morning.

The graffitti is seen as an intimidating action against an MP by criminals who object to the party the MP represents. Acts of intimidation are not acceptable and have for a while been an issue to be tackled in British politics. Ideally, Mps should have CCTV cameras in and around their office, not only to serve as a deterrent to criminals, but also to catch the foolish ones who would break the law in this way.

The criminal acts of those involved was also aimed as sending a message to the MP from the offender that they felt the Conservative party have made too many cuts that has affected the well being of various sectors in the economy.  The means of communication was bad and criminal. The graffiti was discovered this morning as Mr Duncan Smith's team turned up for work.

The former Tory leader, who has held the seat since 1992, said: “This is not acceptable.

“It has happened previously during campaigning for the local elections and so sadly it isn’t the first time that our opponents have caused criminal damage to our office with abusive graffiti.

“Around the country, many of my Conservative colleagues have, like me, received death threats and in the Chingford and Woodford Green constituency, the majority of our local party workers – many of whom are volunteers – are regularly subjected to intimidation.

Mr Duncan Smith said: “Political campaigning is an essential part of the democratic process and all opposition candidates must condemn such intimidation and criminal behaviour.

“I have news for these democracy-hating thugs: this will never stop
