The 58 year old grandma is originally from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and was found with a large quantity of class A drugs as she landed in Bali in May 2012.

The Brit admitted to her offences but she also claimed that she had been forced into the smuggling parade due to threats being made to her son’s life. Despite the allegations against her, and the appeal that followed against the gruesome sentence, Lindsay was unsuccessful. After smuggling over £1.5 million pounds worth of cocaine, the strict laws sentenced her to death. The gruesome death will be held in Indonesian on “Execution Island” aka “Nusa Kambangan” after her time ran out to appeal against the harsh sentencing.

Unsure of when she will be called to the firing line she has taken to writing urgently to her close friends and family to say her goodbyes. The Indonesian authorities’ request that all smuggling prisoners are too be executed by the end of the year.

“The executions have forced me to think about how I am going to handle the situation when my own time comes. I won’t wear a blindfold. It’s not because I’m brave but because I don’t want to hide – I want them to look at me when they shoot me. I’ll sing too, but not Amazing Grace. I’ll sing Magic Moments by Perry Como. I had a boyfriend who used to change the lyrics of songs and play them on his Hammond organ to make me laugh. That was one of the songs he sang and it reminds me of those long-ago songs.

BRIT AMNESTY CONDEMN

The way in which Indonesia kill on their death row is inhumane and Amnesty International has openly condemned the executions at Execution Island and called for an ultimate end to their death penalty way. Lindsay later revealed that she had begun this weekend to write to members of her family to say goodbye. She said she was out of time to apply for clemency, and with the British Government refusing to fund any further legal action, she hasn’t got the funds to appeal. Cruel and Harsh is an understatement. Will the death penalty happen in time for Lindsay’s life to be saved?? Do you feel her sentence is too harsh?? Let us know what you think??
