A 48-year-old nurse from South Kensington, has been struck off the nursing register after being found guilty of participating in extreme body modification procedures, including the removal of a man’s nipple with a scalpel.

Nathan Arnold (pictured)was part of a lucrative and gruesome group involved in male castration, penis removal, and other severe procedures.

The group, led by Marius Gustavson, operated a website called Eunuch Maker, which reportedly generated over £300,000 between 2017 and 2021 by posting videos of these extreme procedures. Arnold, a registered nurse, admitted to mutilating one of Gustavson’s nipples during the summer of 2019.

In addition to his involvement in the body modification group, Arnold pleaded guilty to stealing the local anaesthetic lidocaine from the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

He also admitted to possessing extreme pornography. Last month, Arnold was sentenced to two years in custody, suspended for two years, and was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also given a 60-day rehabilitation activity requirement and an alcohol treatment requirement.

On Friday, May 10, a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel decided to ban Arnold from the profession. The panel stated, “Mr. Arnold’s actions raise fundamental questions about his professionalism and significantly undermined the standards expected of a registered nurse.

The panel considered Mr. Arnold’s actions to be fundamentally incompatible with him remaining on the register.”

The case has drawn significant attention due to the extreme nature of the procedures and the involvement of healthcare professionals. Marius Gustavson, the ringleader, was jailed for life with a minimum term of 22 years.

Six other men received jail terms ranging from four-and-a-half years to 12 years for their roles in the plot.

In January, two men were jailed for similar body modification procedures.

The involvement of a registered nurse in such activities has raised serious concerns about the safeguards in place to prevent such abuses within the healthcare profession.
