Piers Morgan Self Importance In Accusing Harry Of Using His Name Following Lost High Court Case Of Duke

By Hortential Daniels-

Former Good Morning Britain presenter, Piers Morgan, has  evidenced a high level of self importance, after  launching an attack against Prince Harry in the wake of  the duke of sussex  recent defeat in the High Court .

Morgan questionably suggested the duke of sussex was using his name to get attention in his legal suit against the British press, conveniently overlooking the fact Harry has serious grievances against Morgan.

On Tuesday, Mr Justice Fancourt said the claims about Mr Murdoch’s alleged knowledge of unlawful activity at the group added “nothing material” to the case.

Harry and several others are suing NGN – publisher of the Sun and the defunct News of the World – over allegations of phone hacking and unlawful information gathering.

A spokesman for NGN, which denies the allegations, said the court had “thoroughly vindicated” the group’s position by refusing permission to introduce “large and significant” amendments to the case.

Morgan reacted swiftly to the ruling. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he mocked Prince Harry, saying, “Exactly what I told Laura Kuenssberg at the weekend.. the gormless little twerp just throws my name in to get media attention. And judges are now seeing through his game.”

Morgan also shared a screenshot of a Deadline Hollywood report on the matter, though he refrained from using particularly harsh words against the Duke.

The High Court judge, Justice Fancourt, ruled that the new claims against “trophy targets” such as Murdoch and other senior NGN executives could not be included in the trial scheduled for January next year.

He stated that these additions “added nothing material” to the case. However, he did allow for some other amendments to the legal action.

“I also consider that there is a desire on the part of those running the litigation on the claimants’ side to shoot at ‘trophy’ targets, whether those are political issues or high-profile individuals.

This cannot become an end in itself: it only matters to the court so far as it is material and proportionate to the resolution of the individual causes of action. The trial is not an inquiry,” Justice Fancourt elaborated.

There has been  longstanding tension between Morgan and the Sussexes ever since Meghan Markle and the former television presenter fell out.

That tension became worse after Piers Morgan was forced to quit his job at Good Morning Britain following his blanket disregard of Meghan’s account during a controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

The Duke’s actions are more likely a response to this strained relationship rather than a bid for publicity, and his belief that Morgan was aware about numerous hackings of his phone during that period.

Over the years, Morgan has been a vocal critic of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, often using his platform to disparage them.

This recent court ruling is another chapter in Prince Harry’s contentious relationship with the British media.

The Duke of Sussex has been outspoken about the invasive and often harmful practices of the press, which he partly blames for the death of his mother, Princess Diana.

His legal actions against NGN are part of a broader effort to hold media organizations accountable for their actions.
