A maintenance worker at Central Middlesex Hospital faces a seven day trial for the alleged attack on three colleagues.
Matteo Bottarelli, a 44-year-old maintenance worker, has recently entered guilty pleas for multiple charges related to a violent hospital rampage on June 21.

Bottarelli, who was initially charged with attempted murder, admitted to lesser offenses of wounding two colleagues with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
However, he denied charges of attempting to murder three colleagues, including Gideon Tesfay, Trevor McGuire, and Mark Quigley.
The prosecution deemed his guilty pleas unacceptable, setting the stage for a forthcoming trial scheduled for February 12, 2024.

Bottarelli entered his pleas by video link from Wormwood Scrubs before Harrow Crown Court, sitting at the Old Bailey.
The incident, which took place at Central Middlesex Hospital in Acton Lane, close to Harlesden, saw Bottarelli allegedly chase his colleagues with a mattock, a type of pickaxe, before stabbing one of them in the neck from behind.
The hospital was promptly evacuated, and armed police were called to the scene. Subsequently, a second man was found collapsed with head injuries in the aftermath of the incident.
The case raises significant concerns over the safety of hospital workers, as well as broader questions about the mental health and security measures in place in healthcare facilities.
