“We are absolutely delighted to be helping our older community live with dignity and compassion in facilities that deliver high quality care on a state-of-the-art campus.
“We hope our commitment will be a catalyst for Jewish Care’s other local supporters to join us and the Ronson family in making this project a reality, which the Essex and east London community truly deserves and can rightfully feel proud of.”
The Ronson family, via the Gerald and Gail Ronson Family Foundation, has also made a pledge towards the development in cpllaboration with the Redbridge Aid Golf Society.

Sugar entrepreneurial exploits began as a general importer/exporter, achieving lower production prices by using injection moulding plastics for hi-fi turntable covers, severely undercutting competitors who used vacuum-forming processes. Manufacturing capacity was expanded to include the production of audio amplifiers and tuners.
After a take-over battle with Robert Maxwell, Sugar teamed up with Terry Venables and bought Tottenham Hotspur football club in June 1991. Although Sugar’s initial investment helped ease the financial troubles the club was suffering at the time, his treatment of Tottenham as a business venture and not a footballing one made him an unpopular figure among Spurs fans.
Lord Sugar has been awarded two honorary Doctorates of Science and in 2000 he was knighted by the Queen for services to business.
Tottenham Hotspur did not flourish much under Sugar’s leadership as chairman, winning just one trophy, the 1999 Football League Cup.
