By Emily Caulkett-

A UK ticketholder has claimed  the £110m EuroMillions jackpot prize from Friday’s draw.

Only 15 UK players have ever won a jackpot of more than £100m from the Euro millions, the record-holder being a £195m in July.

Friday’s winning numbers were 07, 12, 13, 20 and 45 – while the Lucky Stars were 03 and 12.

Lottery operators Camelot confirmed the prize was claimed by a single ticket-holder in the draw on September 2, 2022, but have not revealed where the ticket was bought . The claim  is now due to undergo a procedural  validation process, after which  the ticket-holder will  decide whether or not to go public and share their incredible story.

Winners of big prizes are often so overjoyed that they feel the urge to share their big win, but others want to  lie low.

Other winners of more than £100 million this year included the biggest National Lottery win of £195 million from the EuroMillions draw on 19 July and a £109 million jackpot from the draw on 4 February in which both winners remained anonymous.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “This is absolutely incredible news and we’re delighted that we’ve received a claim.

“Our focus is now on supporting the ticketholder through the process and helping them start to enjoy their truly life-changing win.”

Gloucestershire couple, Joe and Jess Thwaite celebrated a £184 million win from the draw on 10 May, exactly a month before a UK ticket-holder, who also chose to remain anonymous, scooped £54 million in the draw on 10 June..

The Thwaites said they are “not materialistic” and were not planning to spend too much of their winnings on items – maybe a “new car or something like that”.

They revealed they had to buy suitcases to get to the news conferences as they “never go on holiday”.

Their children have been excited at the prospect of a holiday, they say, and their youngest has “always wanted to go to Hawaii”.

“I think YouTube’s to blame for that,” Mr Thwaite said.

Meanwhile Frances Connolly, who won £115m in the 2019 EuroMillions, who says she is ‘addicted to helping’ said she has given away more than half of her £115m lottery winnings and busted her budget for the next decade.
