Murdered woman, Yasmin Chkaifi, told a close friend of hers that she feared her estranged husband would kill her.
Adele-Sara Richards said Ms Chkaifi, who worked at St.Augustus school, messaged her in April to express her fear that she would die in the hands of her ex husband , 2 years ago. She said she had tried everything, but still didn’t feel safe.
The mum, 43, had two sons aged 16 and 18 , had recently moved in with a new partner- one the factors believed to have contributed to a rage of jealousy in her ex husband.
She said she told her in a text mess age in 2020 that: “He’s had cameras in my house recording me for months.”
She added: “He’s stolen my mail, my phone, has access to all my personal data. I think he will kill me. I’ve tried everything.”
Westminster Magistrates’ Court, which issued the arrest warrant on 4 January, heard the breach related to an alleged physical approach to Ms Chkaifi. McCaskre was also barred from making contact by phone, email, text or social media.
McCaskre stabbed Ms Chkaifi on Chippenham Road, was hit by a car driven by a 26-year-old man. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and subsequently bailed until late February.
Police had issued an arrest warrant for a suspect three weeks before he stabbed to death his ex-wife, after he breached a stalking restraint order, and failed to turn up for a court hearing.
On Monday he attacked his ex-wife Yasmin Chkaifi, 43, stabbing her multiple times in a west London street, before a motorist drove into and killed him in an apparent attempt to stop the attack.
The Metropolitan Police has referred itself to the police watchdog because of its previous contact with Ms Chkaifi , but is unlikely to find any to find any case to answer given the fact the killer jumped bail and was being searched for by the police at the time of the brutal killing.
The IOPC said: “We can confirm that we have received a referral from the Metropolitan Police regarding their contact with Yasmin Chkaifi prior to her tragic death in Maida Vale, London on 24 January.
“We are currently assessing the available information, and have requested more, to determine what further action may be required from us.”
